Strengthening Support: What's New in the Learning Commons and Accessibility Services at CNC In-Person

CNC Learning Commons librarians will highlight several exciting developments and services designed to support faculty and enhance student success. We'll begin by sharing updates on how librarian roles are evolving within the Learning Commons to create more meaningful opportunities for collaboration with instructors. With a renewed focus on program integration, research support, library orientation for classes, and directed assistance, the Learning Commons is growing into a more dynamic and responsive resource hub for the CNC community.
Next, we’ll introduce the CNC LibGuides platform—an evolving collection of subject-specific and skill-based guides created to support teaching and learning. Each librarian is now focusing on liaison work with specific programs, developing customized LibGuides and offering tailored instruction to better integrate library resources into the curriculum. You'll also hear about the eReserves service, which provides a simple and copyright-compliant way for faculty to give students secure digital access to course readings directly within Moodle. We’ll explain how it works, what materials can be included, and how it supports instructional goals.

This portion of the session will introduce key updates to the Accommodations for Students with Disabilities policy, focusing on how the changes are designed to support students and clarify roles and processes for faculty. We’ll walk through what’s new, outline how accommodations are implemented, and highlight our shared responsibility in ensuring equitable access.

Please be aware that this event, speakers, and participants may be recorded by our CTL team.
