Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) In-Person
Join us for an active learning experience designed to strengthen your teaching skills and deepen your understanding of student-centered learning in synchronous and asynchronous online environments. This course is an interactive, collaborative experience where faculty engage in peer-supported teaching practice, constructive feedback, and reflective dialogue. You will design and deliver three mini-lessons, exchange feedback with peers, and explore strategies to enhance student engagement and learning.
This eight-week online Instructional Skills Workshop is designed to allow you to experience and deliver both synchronous and asynchronous lessons. In addition to the synchronous and asynchronous learning, participants can also expect to spend time preparing lessons and completing assignments and assessments.
Successful completion of this course is recognized as equivalent to Facilitating Learning Online Fundamentals (PIDP 3320) for the Vancouver Community College Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP).
Note: Each section of the ISW must have a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 6. If there is a sufficiently long waitlist, we will open up additional sections. If full, please join the waitlist if you are interested in registering for the ISW.
